We are proud to launch our free UK broadband tools and we want your feedback

At SearchSwitchSave, we have been investing in practical, free tools that help people make better broadband decisions. The goal is simple. Make UK broadband clearer, fairer, and easier to navigate for households, gamers, home workers, small businesses, and anyone who just wants a reliable connection without the confusion.

This is not just one speed test. It is a growing toolkit, built for different real-world needs, from checking your connection, to understanding latency and jitter, to working out what speed you actually need before you buy.

The tools we are proud to launch

  • RightSpeed.co.uk: A free UK broadband speed calculator that helps households and small businesses estimate the download and upload speed they are likely to need at peak time. It uses a quick questionnaire and is designed to reduce confusion and help people avoid overpaying for speed they do not need.
  • UKSpeedTest.co.uk (Pulse): A free UK broadband speed test that measures download speed, latency, and jitter, with results shown in the browser. It is designed for quick checks, and the site states results are shown locally and not stored on the server for this tool.
  • Howfast.uk: A browser-based UK speed test with quality ratings for common household use, including browsing, gaming, streaming, video calls, and working from home. It also gives next-step guidance, and links users to related tools depending on what they need to do next.
  • BroadbandBoost.co.uk: A multi-connection broadband speed test designed to give a clearer average result, with indicators for idle latency, download latency, jitter, and quality across everyday use cases. It also clearly states that no data is stored server-side for the test.
  • Laggy.uk: A free UK broadband speed test in a retro terminal format, built for users who want a different experience and more diagnostics. It measures download speed, latency, and jitter, supports terminal-style commands like SPEED, and keeps sharing and analytics as opt-in only.

Why this matters

People do not all have the same broadband problem. Some want to know if they are paying for too much speed. Some want to diagnose lag. Some just want a quick, trusted test. By building multiple free tools, we can help more people in more situations, and do it in a way that is practical, transparent, and genuinely useful.

Part of a wider UK broadband tools network

These tools sit within our wider broadband tools and media network, which is visible on FBRE.uk. FBRE currently shows 19 live sites, 14 in build for 2026, and 6,566,224 impressions across the verified period 11 February 2025 to 11 February 2026. That reach matters because it means these free tools can reach real UK users at scale.

We would love your feedback

We are building these tools for the people who use broadband every day, and for the businesses and providers who want a clearer, better customer experience.

If you are a consumer, business, ISP, altnet, journalist, or industry expert, tell us what tool you would love to see next, and why. If enough people want it, we will build it.

Reply with:

  1. The tool I want is…
  2. It would help because…
  3. I would use it on mobile, desktop, or both

We are proud of what we have launched so far, and we are only just getting started.
